BASKETBALL

Ages:  grades 2-5, co-ed; grade 6 boys’ & girls’ teams

Rimbusters    grades K-1; session runs in January.

Itty-Bitty Basketball  ages 4-5; session runs January—February.

Young children will learn the fundamental skills of basketball as they practice shooting, passing and dribbling. They will rotate throught stations, relays, game playing and scrimmages. In a positive environment; with some interactive participation from parents.

6th Grade Boys Basketball  January—February.

SOCCER

Spring 2021 Schedule

The world’s largest sport is offered at the Y in the Spring and Fall. This sport teaches kids to play as a team, passing back and forth, and scoring.

Ages: grades K-5 (boys and girls teams by grade); grades 6-8 (co-ed teams)

Session: Fall (September—October); Spring (April 5—May 12)

Soccer will be held Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:00-7:30 depending on your team’s schedule.  Spring soccer starts April 5th and will end May 12th – unless weather necessitates make-up games the week after.

Itty-Bitty Soccer  ages 3-5; session runs July – August.

Young soccer stars will be introduced to the game by learning the fundamental skills of soccer as they practice shooting, passing, dribbling and being part of a team. They will get the basics of soccer through fun drills and practice games in a 4 v 4 game environment.

VOLLEYBALL 

This year’s clinic will be partnered with Cloud Peak Volleyball Club. Registration will begin December 8th through the first day of the clinic, January 19th

Ages: grades 2-5 (co-ed clinics)

Session: January 19 though February 23. Tuesday evenings; 2nd/3rd grade 4:00-4:50; 4th/5th grade 5:00-6:00

6th Grade Girls Volleyball

Session: August – September

Itty Bitty T-Ball

Ages: Ages 4-5 (boys and girls teams)

Session: May-June

YOUTH FIT

Our Youth Fit Class introduces youth aged 10-14 to age-appropriate movements and exercises that assist in maximizing physical skills, self-confidence, and body awareness. Our Youth Fit Class aims to make exercise fun and to help your young athlete move better, safer, and more effectively. Classes include a warm-up, skill work, and workout to introduce fitness principles and correct technique while combining strength, speed, and agility training. Youth Fit Class will also incorporate character development and healthy living discussions which are scaled appropriately for their age.

Session dates: May 11 – June 24 
Time: Tuesdays and Thursdays @ 4:00 – 4:45 – meet in upstairs cycling room
Fee: $30 members/ $40 non-members 

PARENT-YOUTH PRIVATE INSTRUCTION 

Designed to offer youth grades 5-8 the opportunity to train with a parent, this program introduces the weight-stack strength machines and aerobic equipment to kids. Appropriate behavior, weight room guidelines and proper execution of exercises are taught. A parent must accompany the child to the instructions and also train with them in the weight room.


TAEKWON-DO (I.T.F. — U.S.T.F.)

Ages: 6 years to adult

More than just self-defense!  Gain confidence and empower yourself to make positive life choices through character development from individual and team competition using techniques of bare hands and feet.  Engage the spirit, mind and body through observance of the 5 tenets of courtesy integrity, perseverance, self-control and indomitable spirit.
