Leadership skills are a life-long quality. This program incorporates activities that promote leadership development, outdoor adventure, service to community, teamwork, nature appreciation, and personal growth. LITs help with supervision of campers, lead small group activities and learn how to be part of a staff team. Each day provides new opportunities and new challenges. The course is staffed by excellent counselors who ensure that each participant has a first-rate experience. LITs learn and practice outdoor and leadership skills throughout the week with hands-on experience.
The LIT program requires a personal commitment to a staff training session and active involvement in their scheduled week(s). You can apply by downloading an application here or at the Y Front Desk. A Camp Director will then be in touch with you. Apply by May every year.
You don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great!
