The arts programs at the Sheridan County YMCA look to give a positive growth experience to the youth of Sheridan county.

Sheridan Youth County Choir
4th – 9th grade
Tuition is $25/month due at the end of the season
In January 2019, the Sheridan County Children’s Chorale reinvented itself as the Sheridan County Youth Choir (SCYC). Taught by Stephanie Zukowski, Tyler Rogers, and accompanied by JoAnn Lilley, the SCYC is made up of the Sheridan County Boys Choir and the Sheridan County Girls Choir. The choirs rehearse separately and perform together.
The mission of the SCYC is to build and maintain an intrinsic connection between musicianship, community, and joy in each singer. All singers will learn about choral technique, build on their music literacy foundations, and have multiple performance opportunities with the SCYC. The choirs serve students between 4th grade and 9th grade. (Note: Due to the Covid19 pandemic, the SCYC plans on admitting 9th grade singers for the 2020-2021 seasons!)
Admission to the choir is by audition only. Auditions are held in September and January 12 and 13. At auditions, interested singers will be asked to:
– Sing a scale (D4-D5 through F4-F5)
– Demonstrate two-tone pitch matching
– Sing either “Take Me Out To The Ballgame,” OR “My Country Tis Of Thee” (music is provided!)
AUDITIONS: January 12 and 13. 4:30 pm at the YMCA
