Water Fitness Classes

A variety of adult water fitness classes are offered throughout the year, all designed to improve the function of the heart, lungs and muscular system. Experience an array of resistive equipment and program formats as you enjoy the buoyancy of the water. Aquatic fitness classes are open to individuals 9th grade and older.

 

 

HELPING TO DEVELOP INNER STRENGTH AND CONFIDENCE

 

Core StrengtheningAllow the gentle and quiet atmosphere of core strengthening to help you focus on building stronger abdominal, low back and pelvic girdle muscles. Develop strength and flexibility through unique exercises designed to improve posture and body awareness.

Sessions: 6-week sessions; Tuesday & Thursday, 9-10 a.m.
Fees: free to Y members; daily fee for program members

 

 

REJUVENATING THE WHOLE BODYseniors swim

ArthrocizeJoin a group of your peers in an uplifting water experience.  Maintain or improve joint range of metion, muscular strength and muscular endurance.  Learn correct body mechanices to help alleviate difficulties in gait and everyday activities.  Gain confidence with your movement in everyday life.

Sessions: Monday, Wednesday, Friday; 11 a.m. to 12 noon

ENTHUSIASTICALLY STRENGTHEN YOUR BODY AND MIND

 

Cardio PowerStart your day off right with an energizing water class.  Cardio Power is a fast-paced, high-intensity class concentrating on cardiovascular fitness and muscular endurance.  Using a variety of equipment creates resistance from every direction.  Let the vitality fo this class help build your energy for  the rest of your day.

Water X Training—The variety of equipment and exercises provided in this class keeps you excited and energized.  Get cardio conditioning and muscle toning through exercise stations and resistive equipment.  Build strength and endurance and begin your day feeling refreshed.

 Sessions: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 5:35-6:35 a.m. & 7:45-8:45 a.m.

Water Wave—Enjoy a social atmosphere while building endurance and strengthening muscles.  Bring a friend and start living healthier today!

 Sessions: Monday, Wednesday Friday, 9-10 a.m. & 1-2 p.m.

Shallow Water Combo—This aerobic workout is all heart.  Let an instructor take you through the paces designed for cardiovascular fitness.

Sessions: Tuesday & Thursday, 8-9 a.m.

Deep Water Combo—Strap on a pair of hydro-fit boots, snuggle into a buoyancy belt, slip into a pair of fins and POWER through the water.  Join other energetic participants in this high intensity workout.

S.W.E.A.T.Unwind with an hour of non-stop aerobic fun.  Come work at a challenging, safe pace by joining other busy workers and finishing your day with a great workout!

Boots, Belts ‘n Fins—Start your day on the right fin.  Use equipment and deep water to increase resistance in this whole body workout.  Allow the water to support you in your quest for a healthy lifestyle.

Nuts About NoodlesJoin us in our newest water adventure with everyone’s favorite water tool.  Build strength and endurance throughout your whole body with the support of our water noodles.
